Today you have an excellent chance to plunge into the atmosphere of love and camaraderie, to take part in party-games, to practice the use of some pleasant words and expressions on this special occasion. Ведущий2 (B2):It's lovely to meet you here, at Valentine's party!
Ведущий1(слайд 1):
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our Valentine’s party. This happy day celebrates friendship, love and romance. It’s time to tell all those special people in your life how much you like them. Those special people are your Mum and Dad, your grandparents, sisters and brothers, friends and teachers. Valentine’s Day is a good time to tell them how you feel.
Ведущий2:
The 14 of February is a day for fun and greetings. Boys and girls, husbands and wives, friends and neighbors usually exchange greetings of affection, love and respect. Exchanging love-tokens could be a serious matter, leading to marriage or it could be a kind of game.
By the way, do you know the origin of this funny holiday? Ведущий1: Frankly speaking nobody knows exactly how the celebration of Valentine’s Day started. But there are some legends and versions about it.When the Roman Emperor Claudius II needed soldiers for his army, he made a special law against marrying because he was sure that getting married made men want to stay at home instead of fighting wars. But at that time there lived a priest called Valentine. He couldn’t agree with the emperor’s decision. When he saw that young couples were truly in love, he married them secretly. When the Emperor found out, he had Valentine imprisoned. Valentine was beheaded for his disobedience on February 14. Since Valentine had helped lovers, the day he died became a day for people to express love for others.Just before his death, on February 14, Valentine sent the girl a farewell message which he signed ”Fr om your Valentine”.(слайды2,3)
